Salary: circa £25,000
Tonic have been given exclusive access to Birmingham’s fine dining Sommelier opportunity of the year. Opening in January of 2020, in a central location, will be a restaurant and bar which will be the perfect stage for a passionate Sommelier to develop their career.
This venue will have a beverage team of two-three who will work collaboratively and creatively to deliver an exciting range of wine, cocktail and soft drinks. The Sommelier will have the responsibility to autonomously create a varied range of wines to cater to a range of tastes, from small-production natural styles through to premium known labels and appellations. The Sommelier will work initially with an extensive budget to stock the cellar and then to achievable targets to ensure that the regularly changing list is delivered profitably.
The Starting salary for this position will be circa £25k as well as tips amounting to around £4k annually, success here will open up further opportunities to grow within the business. Mentoring and financial support with WSET qualifications will be offered into candidates who are not yet qualified. This team is a real family and although this restaurant offers fine dining, working here is fun and service is informal.
