Caitlin’s passion for hospitality, training and premium product knowledge was kick-started at 22 when she began work at Revolution, Aberdeen. Her ability was immediately recognised by her employers and she was quickly promoted to trainee assistant manager.
Caitlin’s passion for hospitality, people development, and premium product knowledge took root at 22 when she joined Revolution in Aberdeen. Her talent was quickly recognised, leading to a promotion to Trainee Assistant Manager. Before this, she had worked in hospitality alongside her studies from 17, eventually realising hospitality was where her heart – and future – truly lay.
She later joined Malmaison as part of the opening team in Aberdeen, progressing to Brasserie Manager. During her time there, the team was nominated for a Catey Award. Caitlin was personally recognised with a nomination for Departmental Trainer of the Year, highlighting her commitment to training and team development.
In 2013, Caitlin took on the Reservations and Events Manager role at Michelin-starred Restaurant Alimentum in Cambridge, where she remained for six years, honing her skills in guest experience, events, and operational excellence.
Now at Tonic, Caitlin stays closely attuned to industry trends, regularly sharing insights, conversations, and hospitality recommendations across the company’s channels. She also organises the Midlands Hospitality Network (MHN), a community-focused initiative that brings together hospitality professionals for thought-provoking events and industry connections.
In addition, Caitlin contributes a monthly column to Chef & Restaurant Magazine, tackling topical issues across the sector. Her writing ranges from practical advice, like interview preparation, to wider industry challenges, including diversity, inclusion, workplace culture, and sustainability.
Caitlin is a wine enthusiast with WSET Level 2 certification passed with distinction. Her passions extend beyond hospitality recruitment to food, politics, women’s rights, and supporting parents, particularly mothers, as they navigate hospitality careers post-maternity.
