Real conversations for people who work in hospitality.
What is MHN?
MHN brings together hospitality professionals in the Midlands every two months for an afternoon of honest, practical conversation about the stuff that actually matters in this industry. Whether you’re running a business, managing a site or looking for your next role, the sessions are built to be useful, and the room is better for having a mix of people in it.
Each session is built around a single topic with a speaker who knows the industry from the inside. Previous sessions have featured Lydia Papaphilipoplous-Snape (Owner of 4 cafes and industry lobbyist), Michelle Righini (We Recover Loudly), Gordon Ker (Blacklock), Michelle Moreno (QAB Leadership), Trevor Blake (Peach Pubs), and David Taylor (Hampton Manor), among others. Around 50-60 hospitality professionals attend each session, and the conversations that happen in the room and afterwards over drinks are often where the real value sits.
MHN is organised by Tonic Talent, a hospitality recruitment business based in Birmingham. MHN is not open to suppliers. If you are a supplier and would like to sponsor a session, please contact caitlin.allwood@tonictalent.com.
Next Session: AI in Hospitality
Tuesday 26 May 2026
3pm to 5.30pm
The Grand Hotel, Birmingham
Tea and coffee on arrival. Drinks afterwards from our sponsor, Inn Express.
Every time your team can’t get to the right answer fast enough, it costs you. Slower turns. Missed upsells. Mistakes that didn’t need to happen.
Chris Fletcher, founder of Tech on Toast and former Director of Operations at Carluccio’s, is joining us for a live demo of an AI-powered knowledge base built for hospitality. Not a sales pitch. A working tool, answering real questions in real time.
You will see how operators are already using this before, during and after service. And you will leave with something practical you can act on this week, including free access to Stacked Chat to get started in your own business.
Chris has spent years bridging hospitality and technology and he does it without the jargon. Members of his team will also be on hand after the session if you want to talk through how any of this could work for your business.
We will also be joined by Hospitality Action, sharing updates on Walk for Wellbeing and how they support the people in your teams.

Who is MHN for?
If you work in hospitality, MHN is for you. GMs, ops managers, head chefs, business owners, area managers, supervisors, people between roles or looking for their next one. The sessions work best when the room has a mix of experience levels and perspectives, and that is exactly what we aim for.
MHN is not open to suppliers. If you are a supplier and would like to sponsor a future session, please get in touch at caitlin.allwood@tonictalent.com.
