Bartender | Birmingham | £13.50 per hour + tronc

What’s in it for the successful Bartender?

  • £13.50 per hour, approximately £31,590 per annum based on 45 hours per week
  • Plus tronc on top of your hourly rate
  • 45 hours per week, permanent
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays, rising by a day for every year of service
  • 5% contributory pension, and Wagestream so you can draw your pay as you earn it
  • Staff meal on duty and staff discounts
  • A genuine drinks offer to work behind, with a Bar Manager writing the list from scratch
  • Coffee and cocktail training, both taken seriously
  • Funded development behind a university, and a group of sites to move through
  • A place in the opening team
  • Post-placement support from Tonic

Tonic are pleased to partner with University College Birmingham on their new commercial restaurants, and are recruiting Bartenders for Beyond in Birmingham City Centre. Beyond is a commercial bar and restaurant. It is not a training site and you will not be teaching. The bar works differently depending on the hour. Through the day it sits behind an all-day offering built around excellent coffee, and from 17:00 it becomes a proper evening drinks offer alongside serious food. You will learn both sides of it, which is a better education than a straight cocktail bar or a straight coffee shop will give you, and there is funded training behind it rather than a promise.

What are we looking for from Bartender candidates?

  • Bar experience in a quality-led bar, restaurant or hotel
  • Able to make drinks to spec, consistently, through a full service
  • Happy to learn the coffee side to the same standard as the bar
  • Confident talking to guests and comfortable on a busy bar
  • Tidy, organised and quick to reset between services
  • Available across a seven day operation, including evenings and weekends
