Tonic are pleased to partner with our client to recruit a Front of House Manager for their independent, multi-site salon business in Birmingham. Stay with us on that, because if you currently run a hotel reception, a spa front desk or a restaurant floor, this is largely the job you are already very good at, on hours that barely exist anywhere else in service. You would own the front of house across both sites: the systems, the rota, the client experience, the daily reconciliation, the stock and the product sales targets, leading a front desk team and reporting straight to the Managing Director. The brief is to build a front desk that runs properly rather than one that simply copes, and the role comes with a written line between what you decide yourself and what you take to the owner. Salon experience is genuinely not required.

What are we looking for from Front of House Manager candidates?

  • Experience supervising or managing a front desk, reception or service team
  • Hotel front office, spa, aesthetics clinic, private dental practice, restaurant reception or salon backgrounds all work here
  • Organised in the way that shows rather than the way it reads on a CV. Rotas out early, stock never short, cash right first time, nothing chased twice
  • Comfortable holding a small team to a standard warmly rather than loudly
  • Someone who would rather build a system than firefight the same problem every week
  • Confident with booking and till systems, and quick to pick up a new one
  • Commercially minded, happy to lead a team to a product sales target rather than just report on whether it landed
  • Consistent enough that the team follow you, and personable enough that clients trust you
