Tonic are pleased to partner with our client to recruit a General Manager for their independent real ale pub in Digbeth. This is a proper independent, a genuine Digbeth venue with cask ale at its heart, a loyal local following and a personality you cannot fake. As General Manager, you will take full ownership of the pub, the team, the cellar, the numbers and the atmosphere, with the freedom to run it your way and the accountability that comes with it. There is no regional template to follow here and no head office second-guessing every call. If you know your way around a well-kept cask line and you want a venue you can genuinely make your own, this is it.

What are we looking for from General Manager candidates?

• Proven General Manager experience in a pub or bar-led venue
• Real knowledge of cask ale, proper cellar management and a genuine eye for quality on the line
• Commercially sharp, comfortable owning KPIs, GP and labour
• A hands-on, front-of-house leader who runs the floor, not the office
• A strong people manager who builds a good team and keeps it
• Self-starting and comfortable in an independent setting, makes decisions and owns them
• Personal licence holder, or ready to gain one
