Tonic are assisting University College Birmingham in their search for a Kitchen Porter to join the opening brigade at Brock’s, their new neighbourhood restaurant in Harborne. Brock’s is a commercial kitchen. It is not a training site and you will not be teaching. You will keep the kitchen clean, stay on top of the pot wash and get deliveries away, working as part of a small brigade rather than being left on your own at the back. The rota is worth noting. Two fixed consecutive days off every week, no split shift, and an early finish on a Sunday. If you want to learn to cook, there is funded training here and a Head Chef who will back you.

What are we looking for from Kitchen Porter candidates?

• Previous kitchen porter or commercial kitchen experience, or a genuine willingness to learn
• Able to keep pace and stay organised through a full service
• Understands basic food safety and cleaning standards, or is happy to be trained in them
• Takes pride in a clean kitchen and a tidy section
• Reliable and on time, every shift
• Available Wednesday to Sunday, including evenings and the Sunday daytime service
