Tonic are pleased to partner with our client to recruit a Sous Chef for their produce-led restaurant near Solihull. This is seasonal British cooking done properly, in a serious kitchen with real momentum behind it. This isn’t a number-three-in-disguise role. You’ll be the Head Chef’s right hand and the senior figure on the pass when they’re off, holding the standard, leading the brigade and setting the tone. If you’re a strong Sous ready to own more, or a Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up into a kitchen worth committing to, this is one of the good ones.

What are we looking for from Sous Chef candidates?

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, or a strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
  • Demonstrable leadership, able to run a section and a full service unsupervised
  • Background in fine dining, Michelin or rosette-level kitchens
  • Strong à la carte pedigree and the ability to deliver consistency at pace
  • Calm under pressure, reliable, consistent service after service
  • Genuine commitment to produce-led cooking and to developing a team
