Tonic are pleased to partner with our client to recruit a Support Chef for their gastro pub group, covering sites across Surrey, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and Berkshire. This is a field-based role supporting the Executive Chef team wherever there’s a gap to fill, stepping in as acting Head Chef or supporting a Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen duties and deputising as Sous Chef when needed. No two weeks look the same, but the standards you bring stay consistent wherever you land. It’s a genuine opportunity to build a broad, senior skill set across multiple sites while working for a business that backs its people properly.

What are we looking for from Support Chef candidates?

• Experience at Head Chef or Sous Chef level within quality-led, fresh food kitchens
• Confident stepping into unfamiliar kitchens and earning respect from new teams quickly
• Comfortable running a full service under pressure, to a consistent standard
• Own transport essential, with genuine flexibility to travel across the region
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously
• A collaborative approach, happy supporting others as well as leading
