Tonic are pleased to partner with our client to recruit a Senior Conference & Events Sales Coordinator for their prestigious hotel property in Birmingham. This is a genuinely senior coordinator role, sitting just below the Assistant Sales Office Manager and carrying real responsibility for the commercial diary, team development and the quality of every event proposal that goes out the door. You’ll own high-profile, high-value enquiries from first contact through to function sheets, lead show rounds that win business, and play an active role in shaping how the wider team sells, converts and retains clients. The client is a well-established, full-service hotel with a serious conference and events operation, and this is a rare opportunity to step into a role with genuine influence.

What are we looking for from Senior Conference & Events Sales Coordinator candidates?

  • Solid experience in a conference and events sales or coordination role within a hotel or large venue
  • Confident handling high-value, high-complexity enquiries, including key agents and volume accounts
  • Strong commercial awareness, comfortable with diary management, yield, conversion and rate optimisation
  • Experience in producing detailed proposals and function sheets to a high standard
  • Ability to lead show rounds and negotiate confidently to close business
  • A natural coach, able to support and develop junior coordinators in selling technique and client management
  • Organised and analytical, with the ability to manage competing priorities without dropping standards
  • Comfortable working to targets and motivated by hitting them
