Tonic are pleased to partner with our client to recruit a Sous Chef to be second in command in a busy daytime kitchen operation in Moreton-in-Marsh. This is a proper leadership role, running the kitchen day to day alongside the Head Chef and taking full control of the brigade and the standards when they’re off site. The trade is seasonal with Christmas the standout period, so it suits a chef who plans ahead and leads from the front when the pressure is on. What are we looking for from Sous Chef candidates?

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, or a strong Junior Sous ready to step up
  • Confident leading a brigade and running the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
  • A genuine team builder with a track record of developing and retaining good chefs
  • Strong commercial awareness across gross profit, ordering and labour control
  • High standards and a lead-from-the-front style
  • Calm and decisive under pressure
  • Food Hygiene Level 3
